Thankfully, they all work well in various safety tests, except for the headlights performance that were rated poorly.
Performance
The new A3 has a 2.0-liter engine that shuttles 186 hp and 221 lb-ft of torque. It furnishes a good acceleration and a lively handling. The steering is sharp, direct, and the optional all-wheel drive gives a confidence-inspiring grip on slippery roads.
The ILX offers a 201 hp engine with a 180 lb-ft of torque. The transmission is great but it is the only thing that is noteworthy. The engine is enough to get the job done but it does not impress much.
The Bottom Line
Comparing both cars, it is easy to see why the 2020 Audi A3 is superior to the 2020 Acura ILX. The styling alone makes the ILX look bad since the A3 is made with premium materials and a cabin that is nicely laid out. The performance of the ILX is okay but it appeared weak compared to the consistently good performance of the A3.
