There are two engines to choose from for all three trim levels, the 40 TSFI for up to 188 horsepower and the 45 TFSI for up to 248 horsepower. Both engine types give the A4 a powerful acceleration that stays smooth and quiet.

How the IS performs largely depends on what is under its hood. The base model has a 241-hp engine and there is also 3.5-liter V-6 for up to 260 hp. Both engines does not offer much in terms of acceleration making the IS a bit slower compared to its rivals.

The Bottom Line

The 2020 Lexus IS does not come close to the almost-perfect 2020 Audi A4. The A4 simply has everything that you would like to have in a luxury car while the IS needs to seriously upgrade most of what it has in order to keep up.
