2020 Audi A6 vs. 2019 BMW 5-Series

Shuffling some of its previous trims, the 2020 Audi A6 also debuts the S6 and RS 6 Avant models. It has the usual posh interior, with an intuitive infotainment system. On top of that, you will enjoy the road better with the smooth ride that it promises.

In the case of the 2019 BMW 5-Series, there are more advanced features to look forward to. Note, however, that it has discontinued its turbo-diesel engine version.

Design & Style

Available in various trim levels, its base trim carries 18-inch wheels, and also has features like power-folding mirrors, power-adjustable steering wheel, and LED adaptive headlights. There is not enough room to accommodate taller passengers in its cabin, though.

Technology wise, there are plenty of standard features in the A6. The list includes with state-of-the-art tri-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and an infotainment system with a dual-display touch-screen interface. It also has a Bluetooth, three USB ports, a 10-speaker audio system, satellite radio, navigation, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. Standard safety features include a rearview camera, front and rear parking sensors, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, and automatic emergency braking.  

The 2019 BMW 5-Series, carries the same iDrive infotainment system, which has not been updated yet. It only supports Apple CarPlay for a year's free subscription. After that, you need to pay the price to enjoy this feature. Safety wise, it includes blind spot monitoring, and lane departure warning.

Performance

Turbocharged by a four-cylinder engine, the BMW 5-Series scores up to 248 horsepower. The 2020 Audi A6 has two engine variants, one is the turbocharged four that produces the same results as that of the BMW and the other, a V6 which hits 335 horsepower.

The Bottom Line

There are a lot of things to like about the 2019 Audi A6. It is solid in terms of overall construction and has technology and features that you will surely love. It also comes powered with a great engine. The 2019 BMW 5-Series may have some great attributes but it does not have everything that it takes to win your hearts over.
